“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but He has risen.

You can’t find what isn’t there.

Why do we look in all the wrong places for happiness, fulfillment, and true life?

The angels weren’t only pointing out that Jesus had risen from the dead; they were pointing out one of the great problems of the human heart: Man’s too often misguided search for life and fulfillment.

Things we look for to feel complete:
-Affirmation & Acceptance:
-Security & Satisfaction:
-Peace & Contentment:

Jesus didn’t resurrect from the grave for you to keep playing with things that can’t give you life.

What you prioritize produces:
-Things that can’t offer life will only produce death.
-Things that can offer true living will produce life.

When the angel’s asked “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” I hear the underlying question that could be asked of all men “why do we look for life in all the wrong places?”

Jesus’ resurrection changes everything.

-We do not need to look among the dead. Those things in life that are only temporary and transient (not lasting or enduring)
-We can appreciate people & things, without depending on them for meaning and ultimate fulfillment.
-Through Jesus our misguided search for life and fulfillment, can be healed.
-We no longer need to look for the living among the dead because in Jesus, we have found true life.
