How did we Get here?
1. Genesis 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden,
2. 3:21. And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them. 22 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” 23 therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. 24 He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.

One of the biggest questions in life. At the end of life, there is no bigger question than this. Is Jesus the only Bridge to God?

We live in a pluralistic society:
i. Tolerance is a high value.
ii. It’s very common for people to believe:
1. All roads lead to God
2. Doesn’t matter what you believe as long as yr sincere.
a. Whatever makes you happy.
3. All world religions are essentially the same.
4. It’s wrong to believe that everyone should believe as you do.

When someone dies, everyone starts to think about what happens next.
a. Just for a moment: Is what I believe really true?
i. Why do I believe the way I do?
ii. What’s the basis for my belief?;
iii. “I sure hope so”, “it’s just what I think”, or I really don’t know….

Why do some people get upset about Jesus?
i. Bad experience with a church? Christians?
ii. Probably because of His exclusive claims.
iii. Directly opposes the cultural value of inclusivity.
He said He’s the only way to God!
@ the heart of the issue is either I believe what Jesus said or I make up my own version of what I believe He said. Both cannot be right.

Jesus didn’t come for those that have it all together!
The Resurrection of Jesus
1. Why does the resurrection matter?
a. Jesus was born from a virgin, so he didn’t inherit the sin virus.
b. The Savior, was without sin in word, thought and deed.
c. When he died on the cross, he became sin for us:

Because death could not hold Him, on the 3rd day, He rose from the dead.

The Message of Jesus
Romans 3: 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. ESV
It doesn’t say you need to be good enough.
a. Get-it-together then come to Jesus
b. Figure it out and hopefully in the end, you’ll be right
c. Follow the Big-10 all the time
d. How?
Through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe!
Christ + Nothing!
He is the Bridge to God!!
