That's Him

If I could, I would take John to some places and show him some things about Jesus. When I had done that I can almost hear John saying now, "That's Him! That's Him!". Well, I can't take John to those places this morning, but I can take us. If you will, come along with me this morning, I want to take you on a little trip and show you some truths about Jesus that should leave us all saying, "That's Him!"


I. THAT'S HIM IN CREATION (I'd Take you Back To The Beginning)

A. His Presence In Creation - (Gen. 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.)

B. His Power In Creation - (Col. 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: )

C. His Purpose In Creation - (Gen. 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.)

II. THAT'S HIM IN THE CRADLE

(I'd Take You Back To Bethlehem - Luke 2:1-10)

A. The Mystery Of His Birth - (John 1:1, 14; Phil. 2:5-8)

B. The Ministry Of His Birth - (Matt. 1:21; Luke 19:10; Matt. 20:28)

C. The Majesty Of His Birth - (Phil. 2:5-8)




III. THAT'S HIM IN CONTROL

(I'd Take You Down To The Bottom Of Life)

A. He Controls Disaster - (John 6:15-21)

B. He Controls Difficulties - (Ill. Bread - John 6:5-14; Fire - Dan. 3; Lions - Dan. 6)

C. He Controls Disease - (Matt. 11:5; Luke 4:18 - Jesus healed the blind, the lame, the diseased, the crippled. No disease had the power to stand in the way of His power.)

D. He Controls Death - (He raised Jairus' daughter - Luke 8:41-56; He raised the widow's son - Luke 7:11-16; He raised Lazarus - John 11:43-44) (Ill. He still holds the power over death - John 11:25-26; Rev. 1:18.)

IV. THAT'S HIM ON THE CROSS (I'd Take You Into The Battle)

A. His Pain - (Ill. Isa. 53:4-7; Ill. All He suffered for us!)

B. His Payment - (I Pet. 1:18-19; Rev. 5:9; Rev. 1:5)

C. His Promise - (Rom. 5:6-8; 1 John 2:2; Rom. 10:13; John 6:37)

V. THAT'S HIM WEARING THE CROWN (I'd Take You To The Best Day)

A. His Resurrection - (Matt. 28:1-6; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25)

B. His Return - (John 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:51-52; 1 Thes. 4:16-17)

C. His Reign - (Heb. 8:1; Heb. 10:12; Rev. 19:16)

THAT'S HIM!

Matthew 11:1-6

1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
