How many bad decisions can you find in Genesis 3?

- Eve doubts God’s GOODNESS.
- Eve questions God’s CHARACTER.
- They trust their own FINITE JUDGMENT over God’s INFINITE WISDOM.
- Eve chooses THE RESULT OVER THE RIGHT.
- Adam chooses A PERSON OVER GOD.

Genesis 3:6-8

After eating the fruit, Adam and Eve HIDE FROM GOD rather than CONFESSING THEIR WRONG.

YOU CAN’T HIDE FROM GOD.

It makes a lot more sense to CONFESS my sin to God than to try and HIDE it from Him.

Genesis 3:9-12

Adam and Eve BLAME SOMEONE ELSE for their own wrongdoing, rather than ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY.

Regardless of age, my sin is MY RESPONSIBILITY whether someone else tempted me or not. I will STAND BEFORE GOD for my sin.

AS ADAM & EVE FACE THE FIRST TEMPTATION…

BEFORE giving in:
-They doubt God's goodness.
-They question God's character.

AS they give in:
-They trust their own finite judgment over God's infinite wisdom.
-They choose the result over the right, or a person over God.

AFTER they give in:
-They hide from God rather than coming clean and confessing to Him.
-They blame others for their wrongs rather than accepting responsibility.

Healthy relationships with OTHERS begin with a healthy relationship with GOD.

When we were DROWNING, JESUS saw us.

By GRACE, we have been RESCUED!

Next steps:

- Identify a temptation I fall for and walk it through the 6 bad decisions of Adam & Eve. How am I following the same path they did? What truths can help me take a different path? What help do I have in Jesus?

- Spend some more time reading and studying Genesis 2-3. Am I still stuck in Genesis 3 living, or have I found rescue and peace in Jesus?

- Spend time in private worship praising God for His loving rescue.
