The book of Revelation is about the unveiling of Jesus Christ to the entire world AND the ushering in of God’s eternal and glorious kingdom.
When we say we want Jesus and not the church, we’re saying I desire safety (protection) over God’s design.

When we say we want Jesus and not the church, we’re saying I desire convenience and comfort over God’s design.
Philippians 2:9–10 (ESV) - Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

We (the universal church) are the lampstand that is to shine brightly the light of Christ until the day when His glory is fully revealed and everyone is made to declare Jesus is Lord!
So What?
1. Never forget the Church is a fundamental part of God’s plan – and you are the Church! To deny it, is to deny His plan.

2. Ponder often the glory and majesty of God! It will result in humility, wholehearted praise, and renewal into Christlikeness.

3. Why? Because He is your creator. You owe your life, and everything about your life, to Him.

Colossians 3:9–10 (ESV) - Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
Discussion Questions

2. What does Revelation 4 show you about God?

3. What does Revelation 4 show you about yourself?

4. How did this passage cause you to worship or delight in the Lord?

5. What in this passage causes you to repent (as we repeatedly called for in Revelation 2-3)?
