We are so glad you joined us today. Pax is a non-denominational church that exists to live and share the gospel of peace. (Romans 5:1-11)

Our vision is that everyone would find peace with God through Jesus Christ and become peacemakers who advance the kingdom of God.

Our Mission is to: LIVE AND SHARE THE GOSPEL OF PEACE.

Daily Bible Reading Plan

📖 PAX 2024 READING PLAN 📖

Operation Christmas Child Update

Because of your generosity on Christmas Eve, Pax is able to donate 56 gift boxes to children in countries that are hard to reach with the gospel in our world.

For every box received, each child also receives the message of the hope available to them because of who Jesus was and what he has done!

Thank you for helping to reach our world with the Gospel!

House Churches

Would you like to get connected at Pax?
We would love for you to join us for house church during the week.

If you would like to join the community, you can find house church listings by visiting:
https://paxchristian.church/house-church/
and clicking on the "find a house church" button.

House Churches are gatherings of people who live near one another; we meet in homes in local neighborhoods around our community. House Churches meet once a week to share a meal, get to know one another, pray for each other, worship, study the bible, and participate in communion together.

Love Our Teachers

Each year we bless the Staff and teachers at C.C. Meneley Elementary by hosting a Valentine’s Day lunch on February 14th. It is one way we let the school know we are here and we care.

Through out the year we have been collecting donations for teachers to gift them as part of this luncheon.

We are still in need of the following items:
Sharpies
Felt-tipped Markers
#2 pencils
Coffee Gift Cards

If you would like to donate to help provide lunch or assist in catering please let Pastor Mandy know.

Thank you in advance for blessing our community in Jesus' name.
How's your control over your mouth?

Has your mouth ever gotten you into trouble?

WORDS ARE POWERFUL.
They expose your heart; shape ideas; and change minds.

WORDS ARE NOT MAGIC.
"Name it and claim it"; "Manifesting"; and other ways of over-emphasizing our words are unbiblical.
YOUR WORDS MATTER.

They lead you and shape you. They expose what's truly in you.
YOUR WORDS MATTER.

WHAT YOU SAY MATTERS.
WHY YOU SAID IT MATTERS.
HOW YOU SAY IT MATTERS.

"Faith without deeds is dead." And so is faith that is silent or doesn't match your words.
YOUR WORDS MATTER.

This portion is talking about teaching... but not exclusively TO teachers. The following verses are explaining why authoritative use of words is something to be done carefully.

BAD TEACHING: "Preach the gospel at all times. Use words only when necessary.” The original quote is attributed to St. Francis of Assisi.
YOUR WORDS MATTER.
They give meaning to your actions, and show your integrity (or lack thereof).
YOUR WORDS MATTER.

SMALL THINGS THAT MAKE A BIG IMPACT:
- bit :: horse
- rudder :: ship
- tongue :: body/life/mind
YOUR WORDS MATTER.

Like Jesus said in Matthew 15:
18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what defile a person;
WORDS MATTER:

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.

AT LEAST THESE INVOLVE WORDS. MOST OF THE OTHERS AS WELL.
THINGS TO CONSIDER TODAY:

How can I take control of my words?
Do my words align with my actions?
Who do my words reveal me to be?

COMMUNION

We believe in an open communion, and would like to invite anyone who has professed faith in Jesus to participate with us this morning.

Communion elements will be made available at the close of service at the front of the room, please wait to come forward until we have prayed for communion.

The bread represents the body of Christ.
The juice/cup represents the blood of Christ.

BAPTISM

Are you ready to be baptized? In the Bible, when people come to faith in Christ, and they ask "what do I do now?" the answer is consistently baptism. In baptism, we identify with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection as we lay down our lives in the water, and come to new life in Christ. If you believe Jesus is Lord and are ready to make that declaration in your life, sign up and we would love to baptize you.
