INTRO: The First Call of the Kingdom: Repentance
Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matt 3:2
Repentance: Metanoeo- Repentance is a decision that results in a change of mind, which in turn leads to a change of purpose and action.

3 Fold Implication:
1. Renunciation/Reversal
2. Submission/Teachability
3. Continual Shapeability.

Entitlement is the belief that one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment. It is the feeling that you have the right to do or have what you want without having to work for it.

- We (Kingdom sons and daughters) are NOT Entitled to Happiness!.walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects”. Col 1:10

- We are NOT Entitled to ACCEPTANCE.
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” Eph 5:11

- We Are NOT Entitled to a Certain Standard of LIVING.
…Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:11-13

- We Are NOT Entitled to the POSSESSIONS of Others.
, “Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat, to drink and enjoy oneself in all one’s labor in which he toils under the sun during the few years of his life which God has given him; for this is his reward” Ecclesiastes 5:18

- We Are Not Entitled to Marry Whoever We Want.
“It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him” Gen 2:18
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh” Gen 2:24

- We Are Not Entitled to Our Own Interpretation of the TRUTH
“There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” Proverbs 14:12

ANALYSIS/APPLICATION: Defeating the Spirit of Entitlement

1. Choose to be Grateful.
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2 Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.’Vs 1-7

Rejoice always pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thess 5:16-18

2. Ensue to be Faithful.
So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ 9 And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. Vs 8-9

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1 Cor 3:9-13

3. Refuse to be Hateful.
But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. 11 And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner, 12 saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ 13 But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’ 16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.” Vs 10-16
