THREE TEACHING PRINCIPLES
#1 Our goal is to start a conversation.
#2 Agreement with us on any particular issue isn’t a requirement nor really expected.
#3 We want to posture ourselves as learners.
THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:
Why should I love my enemy?
Prior to Jesus, there is no record of anyone teaching people to love their enemies
Love your enemy.
Your relationship with God is measured against your relationships with others.
If love does not know how to give and take without restrictions, it is not love, but a transaction that never fails to lay stress on a plus and a minus.
Emma Goldman
We project onto God our worst attitudes and feelings about ourselves … God made us in his own image and we have more than returned the compliment. If we feel hatred for ourselves, it only makes sense that God hates us.
