Imitate Christ

Be imitators of God as beloved children. As dearly loved children (because you are a beloved child), Not to become a loved child, but because you have been made a loved child.

To imitate God means to mimic him.
How do we mimic someone?
We watch them. We pay close attention to them. And then we do what they do.


We tend to imitate or mimic those around us, specifically those we respect and or look up to.
Many Christians fail to imitate God because they are trying too hard to imitate someone else.

It is clear from this that darkness and light are more than just things or even ways of living. They are more than mere metaphors for bad and good behavior. They are two different realms or kingdoms that are engaged in spiritual warfare with one another.

There are many opportunities, but not all opportunities are things we should put our time into.


The word discern. This Greek word means to take all the pieces and think about how they connect together. It is the word used to describe the assembling of a puzzle. You take all the disconnected pieces of information, and you try to assemble them into a coherent picture. Assembling the pieces of a puzzle takes time. It takes patience. It takes hard work. It is the same way with trying to understand God’s will for our lives. At times in my life, I literally prayed for God to write his will on the wall with his finger as he wrote on the wall for Belshazzar in the book of Daniel. So far, no supernatural hand has shown up. I keep following the directions in this verse, and that means reading the Bible and then trying to put the pieces together. I keep thinking about them, praying about them, putting them together, and applying them to my life.
