Words Create Worlds week 3 (Living Thankful)
This series is based off Mark Batterson’s book: "Please, Sorry, Thanks" ...and how these three words we all grew up hearing - can actually change our world. They have the ability to impact our thoughts, develop our relationships and inspire our dreams for the future. What if we lived into these simple but incredibly profound words to help create the world we want to see and be a part of in our day. We'll see the power of these words and their invitation in God's Word and how they call us to live as we follow Jesus. Nothing opens doors like please Nothing mends fences like sorry Nothing builds bridges like thanks

Words impact us - for positive or negative. They impact our relationships around us and can influence even within ourselves.
“The tongue has the power of life and death.”
-Proverbs 18:21
Truth: Our words determine the directional trajectory of our lives…
(see James 3)
3 words that really matter: PLEASE, SORRY, THANKS
Quote:
Few words resonate with more power than please, sorry, and thanks. They sing in three-part harmony. A pretty please opens hearts and minds and doors. A simple sorry can mend broken relationships. A heartfelt thanks is the flywheel of gratitude. -Mark Batterson

Review:
"LIVING BLESSED" (PLEASE)
BE A PERSON Living under the Blessing of God (asking him please; we can ask)
Be a person who is a BLESSING to those around (seek to help others)
"Living Unoffended" (SORRY)
In our cancel culture, we very quickly can draw up the battle lines — it is NOT very easy to say Sorry or to seek out relational restoration.
But that is what Jesus calls us toward.
BE a person who lives unoffended the best you can. Say your Sorry to others and keep short accounts with God as well. Don’t have a Velcro soul, have a Teflon soul... *remember: 'forgiven people, forgive people'

Concept tonight around the word (THANKS):
"Living Thankful"
John ch. 6 -- looks like not enough; but with Jesus the lack is made up
Truth:
what we have put into the hands of God always adds up to MORE
TRUTH: Your generosity is always someone else’s miracle!
Thankfulness ==IT’S THE POSTURE OF HEART WE’RE TO FOSTER WITHIN.
Psalm 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
Luke 17 - healing of the 10 lepers (all got healed 100%; but only 1 came back to say thanks 10%)
Be part of the 10%! = Live Thankful. Thankfulness has a way of shaping our soul and deepening our connection with Jesus.

Gratitude is not getting all you want — IT’S APPRECIATING WHAT YOU GET TO ENJOY.
a SIMPLE THOUGHT — as we learn to thumbprint our Thanks:
"It’s all from God, it’s all for God"
James 1:17
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

*Goal: living from a place of gratitude and a posture thankfulness
Taking nothing for granted.

2 KEY ?’S: when it comes to evaluating our own words and how our words are creating worlds around us…
What do you need to STOP SAYING?
What do you need to START SAYING?
