Words Create Worlds week 1 (Living Blessed)
This series is based off Mark Batterson’s book: "Please, Sorry, Thanks" ...and how these three words we all grew up hearing - can actually change our world. They have the ability to impact our thoughts, develop our relationships and inspire our dreams for the future. What if we lived into these simple but incredibly profound words to help create the world we want to see and be a part of in our day. We'll see the power of these words and their invitation in God's Word and how they call us to live as we follow Jesus. Nothing opens doors like please Nothing mends fences like sorry Nothing builds bridges like thanks

Thanks for being with us...
Words impact us - for positive or negative. They impact our relationships around us and can influence within ourselves.
==If it true of plants; it’s especially true of people!
“The tongue has the power of life and death.”
-Proverbs 18:21
(see James 3)
3 words that really matter: PLEASE, SORRY, THANKS
Quote:
Few words resonate with more power than please, sorry, and thanks. They sing in three-part harmony. A pretty please opens hearts and minds and doors. A simple sorry can mend broken relationships. A heartfelt thanks is the flywheel of gratitude. -Mark Batterson
Living Blessed
LIVE BLESSED — live under God’s blessing.
We’re invited into an interactive relationship with God; invited to ASK of God because it pleases him to help us.
”“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.“ -Matthew 7:7-8 NLT
When we rehearse them, we internalize them...
The Scriptures are full of God's promises...
(some examples)
Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing.”
Psalm 27:1 "The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 32:8: “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go.”
Isaiah 41:13 “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
Matthew 28:20 “…be sure of this: I am with you always, …to the end of the age.”
Romans 8:1 “There is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus”
1 Peter 2:9-10. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all you cares upon Him, because he cares for you.”
PICK 5 SCRIPTURES -- (these or others) and begin to lean deeply into them to bless you, refresh you, remind you...
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus…" -- Philippians 2:3-6
Seek to live a life that (asks to help others - please mentality)
Remember back to the priestly blessing God gave…
Number 6:22-26
The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
“‘“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
We are a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2) - we’re to speak blessing over others…through our words, through our actions and interactions with them…
Q) is your self-talk — God talk?
In your SELF-TALK:
Are you whispering lies or truth?
Are you whispering condemnation or challenge?
Are you listening to the Enemy's murmurs of shame?
Are you listening to the dignity that Jesus declares?
2 KEY Questions: when it comes to evaluating our own SELF-TALK…and how our words are creating worlds around us…
What do you need to STOP SAYING?
What do you need to START SAYING?
PLEASE is adopting a posture of humility
It doesn’t take anything for granted. Doesn’t have a whiff of entitlement.
It keeps us humble and dependent upon God - seeking His help.
It places high value on others. It creates a culture of honor, a culture of respect, seeks to be of help to others…
LIVE BLESSED — live under the blessing of God and live to be a blessing to others.
