Dieting changes the way you look,
fasting changes the way you see.


(1 Thessalonians 5:23) “May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

You are a spirit.
You have a soul.
You live in a body.


Fasting disconnects us from body and soul.
Prayer connects us to God.

(Isaiah 58:3) Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves,and you have not noticed?’“Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please …”


(Matthew 6:16-18) “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.


(Hosea 6:1-3) “Come, let us return to the Lord … He will revive us …that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the Lord;let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises,he will appear, he will come to us like the winter rains,like the spring rains that water the earth.”

1) Prioritize


(Philippians 3:13) “I do one thing. I forget everything that is behind me and look forward to that which is ahead of me.” (NLV)

2) Let Go


(Luke 10:42) There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” (NLT)

3) Slow Down


(Mark 10:21) “Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (NLT)

4) Surrender
