3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.

II. The First Priority in the Church vs 1-2

Acts 6:4
But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

III. The Heart of God vs 3-4

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

IV. The Work of Christ vs 5-6

Acts 4:12
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

Romans 5:10; John 14:6

V. The Commission of Paulvs 7

1. Are we living out (with a good conscience) the faith we claim?

2. Is prayer our first priority? Do we pray for the salvation of others?

3. Do we share God’s Heart for the lost? Realizing we are also appointed to proclaim the gospel.

4. Have you come to the knowledge of the truth?

Romans 10:9
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
