Sermon Outline
- Scripture: Acts 2:42-47
- The first Jesus followers were devoted to Christ's teachings and caring for
- The Acts community removed barriers to their fellowship to be welcoming to all
- How a community changed my life
- Community can be transformational for the individual and the world
- Christ revealed in communities show a different kind of world is possible
1. Consider this week how you have experienced God in community.
2. Think about ways we can be devoted towards one another and people outside of our community.
3. Prayerfully reflect on what barriers we might have to remove to be more welcoming towards others.
1. Can you remember a time where it felt you met God in community? What did that feel like and how did that change your conception of God?
2. What does it mean to you to be devoted to others? How do you practice that in your faith? What is potentially hard about being devoted to other people?
3. Have you ever felt like there was a barrier to a community you wanted to be a part of? How has that informed the ways you try to be welcoming to others now? What do you think it means to be radically welcoming? Would this challenge your view of who we should be reaching out to as a church?
4. How do you think StoneBridge has helped transform this Earth to spread the hope of Jesus? How do you want to continue that ministry or start new ministries?
