Saddling Up For Tomorrow

Saddling Up For Tomorrow

New Year's Eve Service

Locations & Times

Grace Community Church

8950 M-79, Nashville, MI 49073, USA

Sunday 10:00 AM

When we look at the New Year, we like to make HUGE plans, HUGE goals, and HUGE promises.
Saddling up for tomorrow gives us the image of cowboys sitting around the campfire. They are discussing how the day went and about the continuation of what they've been doing.
What is GC3?
There are three GC's:

1. God-Honoring Community - Jesus challenged His followers to live as a God-Honoring Community. Grace Church is this community and this is what we'll focus on today.

2. Great Commandment - Jesus commanded this community to love God and love their neighbor. Love God and Love People. Mark 12:30-31

3. Great Commission - Jesus commissioned this community to live on mission. Go! Make disciples! Baptize them! Teach them all that Christ taught you! Matthew 28:18-20
As we saddle up for tomorrow, we don't want to make HUGE plans, HUGE goals, and HUGE promises. Instead we want to take a moment to sit around the fire. Our three challenges today aren't anything new, but instead ones that say, "Let's, TOGETHER, keep going!"
Walk Across the Room - Relational
John 13:1-5
It's all about relationships!
The purpose of meeting together in church is not to gain knowledge, be entertained, or give you a warm fuzzy feeling - it's to point you to Jesus and equip you to point others to Jesus.
"You will never have a better friend than a friend who points you to Christ." - Alistair Begg
Servant Evangelism - Missional
John 13:12-14
Globally and locally we're on the same team.

Globally - The other members of our team from around the world:
Mark and Karen Edwards in Costa Rica
John and Lorna Abramse in South Africa
Randolph and Jot Velasquez in the Philippines
Andrew and Cheryl Tay in Singapore

Locally - Where are you focused? When you are there, what are you focused on? (home, work, sports, friends, free-time)
Have you experienced Jesus' LOVE?
Have you prioritized LEARNING about Jesus?
Have you been LIVING like Jesus?
Have you been LEADING others to Jesus?

"It seems people don't necessarily remember what they are told of God's love, but they never forget what they have experienced of God's love." - Steve Sjogren, Conspiracy of Kindness
Get Engaged - Intentional
John 13:15-17
We are a family that serves one another and equips one another.
What is knowledge without an outlet? What is the purpose of learning if you don't intend to use it?
Here at Grace Church we have so many opportunities for you to get engaged:
H.O.M.E. Groups, Grace U Classes, Mentoring, Serving Opportunities
"God involves us in His mission not because He needs us, but because He loves us!" - David Platt
Don't put off living out the Great Commandment and Great Commission with your God-Honoring Community.
In John 13, Jesus knew it was His last night. He washed His disciples feet because He loved them and wanted them to share that same love with others!

India Giving

God IS SO GOOD!
As a church we've met our goal and have raised $21,820 to train pastors in India! All money will go toward materials, housing, and food during the trainings.
Please remember to pray for this endeavor. Pray for those who are giving the training, for the pastors and their churches, and for the people who will come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior because of this.

Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage Conference

Hey gentlemen!  Looking for that last minute Christmas gift for your wife?  Yes, I assume the ladies have already bought gifts for their men, but if not here is a great idea!  Jeff and Mary Burpee, and Aaron and Angie Walker are planning on getting several couples together to attend Laugh Your Way, a couples comedy event on March 8-9 in Taylor, MI.  The speaker is Mark Gungor, one of the most sought-after speakers on love and marriage.  Join us as he explores the underlying dynamics of male/female relationships with a comedic twist.  The event is Friday 7-10pm, and continues on Saturday from 9am-12pm.  We plan to have lunch together after the event to discuss what we’ve learned. For tickets or more information, use this LINK. See the Walkers or the Burpees if you have questions
