There’s nothing quite like the Christmas story. And at the heart it’s a story that introduces something incredible, bright and WONDER-FILLED — even though it makes its entrance into a dark moment in history…after 400 years of God’s silence…and everything was/is certainly not wonderful.
Then or now.
Thousand times in history there’s been a baby that grows up to became a king, but there’s only been 1 time in history that a King - became a baby.

The Savior of the World has come.
He didn’t come with fanfare or incredible influence at first.
His influence would grow from humble beginnings — reaching around the world and is still reaching out today to any and all who will listen to what the Angel declared that first Christmas night…
A Savior has been born - God has come…
Christmas is way more than a season to enjoy— it is an invitation to embrace MORE OF GOD.

CHRISTMAS is the initiation of God’s reach of GRACE for humanity — and His never-ending reach is still on the move… and NO ONE is beyond it.
Luke 2:15-18
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

The Incarnation MATTERS, friends.
The King of Kings, came as a baby, grew to a man who would lay down his life for the forgiveness of the sins of mankind. Your. Mine.
Christmas celebrates the fact that the God of the universe, the Sovereign One, became one of us. In order to reach us, rescue us, redeem us.
The Jesus story shows us that God is relatable, knowable, accessible and available!!
*2 KEY angelic announcements around Jesus:
At a manger: “He’s here! He’s come down.”
At a tomb: “He’s not here! He’s risen.”
Quote:
The early church didn’t say, “Look what the world is coming to!”
They said, “Look what has come into the world!”
— Carl Henry
We get to continue to herald the INVITATION OF CHRISTMAS in our day.
To declare that the Light of God arrived and it invites all those walking in darkness toward it. The fulfillment of the prophet Isaiah written some 600 years before that 1st Christmas night and the birth of our Savior…
Isaiah 9:2
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
