The Gifts of Creation

The Gifts of Creation

Each Christmas we remember the gift of Christ's first Advent – coming as a vulnerable baby. But we must also remember that the Incarnation was neither the start nor the end of Jesus' ministry to humanity. It began at Creation, continued at the Cradle, worked powerfully at the Cross (and Resurrection), and culminates in the Crown he will be given for his sacrifice. In each of these four aspects of Jesus' coming, God has given gifts to us. This Advent season, let's celebrate these amazing gifts from the Lord and respond with hearts full of worship to him!

Beyond Sunday

Growing with Jesus isn’t just for Sundays. Make it an everyday, everywhere, with everyone mission by going “beyond Sunday”!

Engage in these resources on your own and with your Grow Group*:

Think it out
• Watch this video: npberean.org/beyond1 to better understand Psalms. Then reread Psalm 8.
• What in God’s creation leaves you in awe? How can recognizing God’s glory help you feel more secure?

Talk it out
• What do you naturally look to for significance? Why do you think that is?
• How would believing you are created in God’s Image change the way you view your own significance?

Live it out
• God gifted us for stewardship. What one thing can you do this week to help another person flourish?
• Marvel in God’s majesty every morning by listening to “All Hail King Jesus” (npberean.org/beyond2).

* Connecting in community with other believers is crucial for spiritual growth. Explore group options at npberean.org/gg or contact Andrew (andrewwalker@npberean.org, 308-532-7448).

Next Week's Sermon

God truly is an amazing Gift-Giver! This advent we have the opportunity to celebrate him and how He drew near to humanity at Creation. Next we'll celebrate and consider the significance of the cradle by looking at Matthew's Gospel account of Christ's birth and then pairing that with the powerful message of Hebrews 4. What gifts did God give us through the cradle? How might that influence the way we live, celebrate, and worship today?
