Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
TO BE A “LIVING SACRIFICE” REQUIRES A RENEWED MINDSET.
1. A REPENTANT MINDSET (Carnal mind = death / Spiritual mind = life and peace / Metanoia: Change + Mind (180* / turn to Jesus)
Keep your thoughts on Jesus:
Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:
2. A HUMBLE MINDSET (Do not be high-minded or think to highly of yourself … think of others as better than yourself)
Have thoughts like Jesus:
Philippians 2:3-9 (KJV) Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
3. A WORSHIPFUL MINDSET (not anxious or worried / Peace of mind = trusting in the Lord)
Summit your thoughts to Jesus:
2 Corinthians 2:5 (KJV) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Matthew 6:25 (KJV) Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.
1 Peter 5:7 (KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Matthew 22:37 (KJV)Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
