3. You’ll trade hubris for humility and selfishness for service.
4. You’ll trade retreat for risk.
“Spread the corner of your garment over me, since you are a guardian-redeemer of our family.”
Ruth’s risk is rooted in God’s revelation.
- Ephesians 3:12—In Christ, we can come to God boldly with confidence through faith.
- Hebrews 4:16—We can approach God’s throne of grace with confidence.
- 1 John 5:14–15—This is the confidence we have in approaching God, if we ask anything according to his will, he will hear us. If we ask him to do his will, we know that we will receive what we ask of him.

5. You’ll trade your emptiness for God’s excess.
You’ll trade your closed hands for open hands.
“He gave me these six measures of barley, saying, ‘Don’t go back to your mother-in-law empty-handed.’”
1. Are you moving forward in life?
2. Do you have confidence in God and His relationship to and with you?
3. Is your daily posture one of a humble servant?
4. What kind of risky/bold prayers are you praying?
5. How are you experiencing the Lord’s excess? His betterness?
