Dig Deeper:
1. How is Satan depicted in our culture? What does this reveal about our world?
2. Do you feel like we give Satan too much credit sometimes, or not enough? Discuss your answers.
3. Read Revelation 12:1-3. Why are these considered “signs”?
4. Why is Satan represented as a fiery red dragon?
5. Read Revelation 12:4-10. Satan consistently fails to wipe out Christ and His people. How is this shown in this passage? How is this shown in our world today?
6. How is Satan an “accuser”?
7. Read Revelation 12:11-12. What does it look like to live in this manner? How can we live this out today? What is the relevance in knowing that Satan “knows his time is short”?
8. Read Revelation 12:13-17. What are some examples where you have seen or heard about where Christians keep God’s command and hold fast to their testimony even when going through suffering?
9. Read 2 Timothy 3:10-16. How does Paul’s final charge to Timothy prepare us to live when facing persecution? How prepared are you to suffer for your faith?
10. Read Revelation 13:1-18. Describe the beasts and how they war against God and His people. Pay special attention to words like “allowed to” and “permitted to.” What does this reveal to us?
11. What characteristics on this beast help us see that it is a counterfeit Jesus, a fraud?
12. Imagine a world where you could not feed yourself, or your family, unless you willfully rejected Christ. Do you think people today, in other parts of the world, already experience persecution like this?
13. This chapter is sometimes called a “call for the endurance and faith of the saints” (v. 10b). How is your endurance against the enemy right now? Are you willing to endure more suffering or opposition than you are currently experiencing?
14. Read Revelation 14:1-12. Describe the difference between the sights and sounds of Revelation 13 and 14. How are they the same? How are they different?
15. What encouragement do you find in Revelation 12-14? How about warnings or convictions?
16. What eternal truths or principles do I find in these verses?
17. What is the Holy Spirit trying to teach me through these verses? What changes do I need to make in my life to act on what I am learning?
18. What was your most significant takeaway from this week’s sermon, scripture reading, or discussion with your small group?

Live It Out:

God will not allow the enemy to have the final word! This week, look at some other passages listed below, and reflect on the questions, to help you live out your faith today!

Be prepared to stand. Knowing that deception is a weapon that Satan has used since eternity past, we, as Christ’s followers should be prepared to stand up against the devil’s deception. Read 1 John 2:18-23 and 1 Peter 5:8-11. What do these passages teach us about how we should live our lives? Pray this week that God will strengthen you to endure against influences that would pull you to disobey God or deny Jesus with your actions.

Rejoice in the Lord. Read Philippians 3:7-11. What do these verses teach you about God? What do they teach you about you? What is God telling you to do as a result of what you have studied this week? Spend time in worship this week, thanking the Lord for all that He is.

Be reminded. Read Revelation 14:9-11. How recently have you thought about the reality of final judgment for those outside of Jesus? This week, be mindful by this coming judgment and pray for, and invite, those you know to worship Jesus.
