Willingness to Suffer for Christ: Disciples are willing to endure hardships and persecution for the sake of Christ.

Luke 14:27

Sacrificial Commitment: A willingness to suffer for Christ reflects a sacrificial commitment to one's faith. It means being prepared to endure personal discomfort, opposition, and even persecution because of one's allegiance to Jesus and His teachings.

Identifying with Christ's Suffering: This willingness often involves an understanding that Christians are called to identify with the suffering of Christ. It can be based on the belief that, just as Jesus suffered for the sake of humanity's salvation, Christians may also face suffering in their journey of faith.

Counting the Cost: It involves a sober acknowledgment of the potential costs of following Christ. In Luke 14:27-28 (ESV)

God's people have always been characterized by giving, but the way they've given has changed over time.  Giving is an important aspect of the Christian life. After all, Luke records that Jesus himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35).  At Northside, we want to encourage all members to pray about giving and give as God leads them.
