Where Temptation Comes From:

Attacks from Satan, the enemy of God.
Desires within our sinful hearts.

Nevertheless, God’s Loving Kindness Should Call Us to Change.

The Temptation Equation:
Wrong desire + Right Opportunity + Wrong Choice = Real Consequence

Two Outcomes When Facing Temptation:
Right choice: Sanctification — spiritual growth resulting in Christlikeness.
Wrong Choice: Suffering — experiencing the natural consequences of your sin.
Right choice: Sanctification — spiritual growth resulting in Christlikeness.

Control Your Passions, or Your Passions Will Control You.
To Avoid Giving in to Our Desires:
Accept what is TRUE about sinful choices.
Acknowledge GOD’S ROLE when facing temptations.
Align my life with GOD’S WAYS.

James 1:12, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
