“Most will be content with God's provisions but have no desire to
draw near to his presence.” -Let us Draw Near by Judson Cornwall
1. The tabernacle was the means by which God’s people at
that time could have access to the Presence of God.

Let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.

Why are we doing a series on the tabernacle?
-The Pattern of the Tabernacle points to Jesus and our progression
towards intimacy with God.
Why NOW are we doing a series on the tabernacle?
-We are right now at the beginning of the Jewish High Holy Days.

Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) is the first of three great
festivals to be celebrated in the fall.
Begins sunset of Friday, September 15, 2023
Ends nightfall of Sunday, September 17, 2023

First of the High Holidays, it is the Jewish New Year. It is the
anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, and a day of
judgment and coronation of G-d as king.
Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) and Sukkot (the Feast of
Tabernacles).

Sunday, September 24, 2023
Ends nightfall of Monday, September 25, 2023

Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) is the holiest day on the
Jewish calendar, when we fast, pray, seek forgiveness from G-d
and our fellows, and come closer to G-d. It is the peak of the High
Holidays.

The great theme of Rosh Hashanah is repentance, and the
overarching theme of the high holiday season is forgiveness. The
first day of Rosh Hashanah begins a ten-day season of
repentance, often called the Ten Days of Awe by the Jewish
people. These ten days conclude with the observance of the Day
of Atonement.

The Ten Days of Awe, or the Ten Days of Repentance, are
observed during the time between Rosh Hashanah and Yom
Kippur. Jewish tradition calls upon us to ask for forgiveness from
those we may have offended during the past year and to forgive
others for their offenses against us in anticipation of receiving
God’s forgiveness at the conclusion of the ten-day period.
Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles)

Begins sunset of Friday, September 29, 2023
Ends nightfall of Friday, October 6, 2023

The seven days of Sukkot—celebrated by dwelling in the sukkah,is
the holiday when we expose ourselves to the elements in covered
huts, commemorating G-d's sheltering our ancestors as they
traveled from Egypt to the Promised Land.Coming after the
solemn High Holidays, it is a time of joy and happiness

Our prayer is that during this series you will get an appreciation for our connection to the ancient faith of the Israelites, but even more so that you will see how what they were looking forward to and doing in part, because of Jesus we get to experience in full all that God is and has done for us.

We pray this series will deepen the roots of your faith and cause you to Draw near to God Presence.
