Nehemiah: The Call to the Wall. The Enemy Within (v2.0 with study questions)
Sunday Service The work on the wall stops because of strife among God’s people. If the enemy can’t stop the work from without, He will try from within. When God’s people fight one another they are neither fighting the real enemy nor getting God’s work done. How will Nehemiah respond? How can that help me respond to attacks from others?

If the enemy can’t get you from the outside, he’ll try from within!
If he can’t push you down with difficulties, trials and tribulations, he’ll try to puff you up with selfishness.
If he can’t empty you with financial pressures, he’ll tempt you with materialism and greed.
We respond with 'The Opposite Spirit!'

Ch 4 ended on a sweet note of victory. The people of God doing the work of God,-despite obstacles. They worked with a sword in one hand and a trowel in the other, and they would not let their enemies stop them. They are unstoppable!!

c. God sends a famine. The Bible tells us that God is in control, even during times of scarcity. God’s desire in bringing famine upon Israel was to gain His people’s attention—through their stomachs.

If Nehemiah and his people did not find a way to do what God wanted them to do with their money and money problems, the work of God would be stopped — without a single arrow being fired by the enemies of God.
If we don’t handle our money with the right heart, and make financial decisions with an eye to eternity, we can make mistakes that will affect the work of God in our lives today and tomorrow.
