North Platte Berean Church
Gospel Protection
The apostle Paul was prolific in planting churches in areas where the Gospel was previously unheard and one such place was the island of Crete off the coast of Greece. As a hub with many harbors and great reach into the ancient world, Paul strategically launched a network of churches on Crete. The churches, however, were quickly in danger from false teachers distorting the purity and simplicity of the Gospel - salvation through Christ alone by faith alone. Paul, therefore, assigns Titus to build up these churches by appointing elders who can rebuke those swayed by this false gospel and teach truth. He spends much of the letter explaining how believers in Christ comprise a new household and even a new humanity through their faith in Christ alone. As we study Titus, we’ll see how authentic faith must inevitably make a difference in our practice of godliness. And when we fail, we have a wonderful Savior who has brought us into his house – into a new way of living – the true Good Life!

•compromise her relationship with Christ
•violate her conscience
•compromise the care, nurture, and protection of her children
