1. What was encouraging to you from God's word in James 1:19-25?

3. What is one thing that makes it difficult for you to be quick to deeply listen to God's Word? Name one thing you can do to prepare your heart to be increasingly receptive (i.e., teachable) (v 21) to the Word of Christ.

4. Describe one way you have deceived yourself (v 22) by only being a hearer of God's Word and not a doer. Why do you think you are hesitant to be a doer in that area? What is one practical step you could take to begin being a doer in that area? Where do you believe Peace Church is a good hearer but a poor doer of God's Word?

5. James tells us that gospel law is perfect and genuinely freeing (v 25). Name an aspect of gospel law that does not feel liberating even though you believe that it is. Why do you think that is?
