To Grow Devoted Disciples who are intentionally Touching Lives with the Love and Gospel of Christ and committed to Being Transformed by the power of God into the image of Christ.


1. Christ is the Head
Ephesians 1:20-23 (Ephesians 5:23-24)

Hebrews 2:7-8
You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, 8 putting everything in subjection under his feet.” Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.

The Headship of Christ

- The church belongs to Him
- He is the control center
- He has authority to rule
- He gives life and direction
- He has Preeminence

Colossians 1:18-19
And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell

2. All believers are members of His Body.

Romans 12:4-5
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

3. We are interdependently connected

1 Corinthians 12

John 17:21-23
that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

Colossians 2:19
and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.

What do we do?

1. We must understand we are the Body of Christ

2. Surrender collectively and individually to His Headship

3. Start being the Body of Christ
