Exodus 31:12-17
John 3:1-3

1. To keep the Sabbath is to be set apart for God.

2. To keep the Sabbath is to be in tune with the rhythms set from the beginning.

3. God’s plan for the Israelites, by way of the Sabbath was:
a. To be different from other nations
b. To be a visible expression of God’s love and grace
c. To live by God’s instruction
d. To receive blessing, rest by obedience

1. Being born again means the door is opened to God’s presence and holiness.

2. Being born again means never taking a break from doing good but setting aside time for just God.

1. God is Jehovah M’Kaddesh, therefore, we will live like Jesus sanctifies those He saves.

2. Salvation vs. Sanctification
a. Salvation occurs instantly. Luke 23
b. Sanctification occurs gradually. Romans 8:28

c. Salvation requires faith. Mark 1:14-15
d. Sanctification requires obedience. Romans 6:13

e. Salvation removes the penalty of sin. Romans 5:9-11
f. Sanctification resists the desire to sin. Romans 6

g. Salvation is God’s desire for all. 2 Peter 3:9
h. Sanctification is God’s command for all believers. 1 Peter 1:14-16

i. Salvation changes your eternity. Ephesians 2:8-9
j. Sanctification changes your character. Galatians 5:22-26

Bottom Line:
Salvation gets you out of the world, while sanctification gets the world out of you.
