Who is Melchizedek?
Jesus Christ in human form. ( A theophany or Chirstophany- a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ)
• Melchizekdek- “King of Righteousness”
• King of Salem- Jerusalem- Shalom- King of Peace
• “Priest of God Most High” in the first temple
• Priest-King
• Has no genealogy- beginning or ending- Rev. 1:8
• Is like the Son of God - Daniel 3:25
• Has no eternal priesthoodReceived tithes from Abraham
• Offered bread and wine and blessed Abraham ( this is symbolic of communion)

3 ways he served the priestly function:
1. He had a sacred meal with Abraham.
2. He blessed him.
3. Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of all his goods.

How does he compare to Jesus?
• Jesus is the son of God.
• King of righteousness.
• A High Priest
• His body was offered as a sacrifice for our sins.

Qualities of Jesus's priesthood:
• Surety of a better covenant
• An unchangeable priesthood
• Always lives to make intercession
• Offered up Himself once for all
• Has been perfected forever

Let Jesus be our Priest:
1. Communion- He provided this sacred meal
2. By returning our tithes
3. Receive a blessing from Jesus.
