Have you ever wondered what God is calling you to do in your daily life?

We need to focus on more than the big questions, we need to focus on what it looks like to live out our daily lives as we follow Jesus.

Simon Peter says:
1.Be like minded.
a.We should all believe and follow Jesus daily and have the same goals that Jesus did; to reach a lost world for the Lord and to show others what the love, truth, grace, mercy, and forgiveness of Jesus looks like.
b.Just as different notes form chords to make beautiful harmonies, so different people can live and work together for God.

2.Be sympathetic.
a.Empathizing with others and serving them above yourself.

3.Love one another.
a.The Greek word is philadelphos, refers not only to family love, but to the special love that should draw all Christians together.
b.We are commanded by Jesus to do this, even when we don’t feel like it or like the other person that much.

4.Be compassionate.
a.Caring for other’s needs and what they are going through and showing mercy and grace.
b.Believers ought to be deeply touched and moved by the hurts, pain, needs, and joys of fellow believers and then act to help them. They should be affectionate and sensitive, quick to give emotional support.

5.Be Humble.
a.This is the opposite of being prideful.
b.Humble means having an honest estimate of oneself before God. Humility does not negate one’s own worth or abilities, nor does it inflate them. Instead, a humble Christian can honestly view his or her characteristics and abilities with thankfulness to God.
c.This is also the ability to rejoice in others’ successes and cheer others on instead of looking for glory for yourself.

Peter’s words are like Paul’s recommendations for how believers should act when persecuted for their faith:
•“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse” (Romans 12:14).
•“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody” (Romans 12:17).
•“When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it” (1 Corinthians 4:12).
•“Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.” (1 Thessalonians 5:15).

We cannot always control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond. We should respond with the love of Jesus and share His love, truth, and good news.

5 things we must do:
1.We must keep our tongues from evil.
2.Keep our lips from deceitful speech.
3.We must turn from evil.
4.We must do good.
5.We must seek and pursue peace.

Simon Says to replace our fear with faith in and reverence for Christ.

“He who can tell men what God has done for his soul is the likeliest to bring their souls to God.” - Robert Leighton – Scholar from Edinburgh and Archbishop of Glasgow, Scotland in the 1600s

God wins!

Of course, we know baptism doesn’t save us, it is Christ who saves us, but the water is a symbol of our death to our old sin nature and the old way of life and being washed clean and being raised to life to follow Jesus. It is an outward expression of an inward decision.
