The Relational Side of Obedience
Jesus does not measure love by how we feel, He measures it by how we obey.
Jesus is saying: Obedience opens the door to deep relationship.
The Practical Side Of Obedience
Jesus is saying: This is not about saying you love me because of what I do, it is about showing you love me by what you do.
The problem with obedience is that it requires you to do something.
When you really believe that someone has your best interest in mind you are open to their influence.
