1 Peter and 2 Peter are letters attributed to Peter, one of Jesus' first apostles. Following Jesus marks Christians as different from those around us. Peter wrote to help the Christians in his day understand how to live in a world that doesn't understand us, but how to also love and care for the world so that it can experience the hope of Jesus.

GROWTH GROUP / PERSONAL REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. In 1 Peter 5:5, Peter encourages younger people to submit to their elders and to clothe themselves with humility toward one another. How does humility contribute to healthy relationships within the church and in our interactions with others outside the church? What are some practical ways we can cultivate humility in our lives?
2. The passage in 1 Peter 5:7 urges believers to cast all their anxieties on God because He cares for them. How does trusting God with our worries and anxieties impact our mental and emotional well-being? How can we practically surrender our concerns to God and experience God's peace?
3. According to 1 Peter 5:8, the devil is described as a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. How can we stay vigilant and resist the temptations and attacks of the enemy in our daily lives?
4. 1 Peter 5:9 instructs believers to stand firm in their faith. How does our faith in Christ empower us to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy?
5. 1 Peter 5:10-11 speaks of God's restoration, confirmation, strength, and dominion. How does knowing that God will restore, strengthen, and establish us after we have suffered encourage us in times of trials and hardships? How can we share this message of hope and encouragement with others who may be going through difficult circumstances?
