Has God ever led you to a place in your life where you were standing looking at a huge obstacle in front of you and you didn’t know what to do?

Joshua, like the name Jesus, means The Lord Saves

In Joshua 1, God gave Joshua 5 promises.
1.God Promised to Give His people the Land as He Promised Moses
2.God Promised that No One would be able to Stand Against Them ALL The Days of Your Life!
3.God Promised that He would NEVER Leave Nor Forsake You.
4.God Promised Success as long as Joshua followed Him and His commands.
5.God Promised Joshua He would be with Him wherever he went and NOT to be Afraid or Discouraged.

3 times He told Joshua to be Strong and Courageous (Once Very Courageous)

3 times He told Joshua Not to do something.
Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go - v.7
Do not be afraid – v.9
Do not be discouraged – v.9

Be Strong & Courageous!

Get Past your Past – trust in God for your future and when Satan reminds you of your past, you remind him of his future!
Aren’t you thankful that today we can be close to God because of Jesus?

We must stop, be still, get quiet, listen for His voice, recognize His voice from His Word and His Spirit, Praise Him, Thank Him for speaking to you, then go and take action and obey His voice!

Before making your schedule, take time to focus on what God wants from all your activities.

Knowing what God has said before you rush into your day can help you avoid foolish mistakes.

God told them exactly what and how to do this and what He would do and His reasoning – so that they would believe, and others would believe!
God showed His great power by working a miracle of timing and location to allow His people to cross the river on dry ground.

This testimony of God’s supernatural power served to build their hope in God and to give them a great reputation with their enemies, who greatly outnumbered them.

These miracles showed Israel that God keeps His promises.

Often God provides no solution to our problems until we first trust Him and move ahead with what we know we should do.

What are the rivers, or obstacles, in your life? In obedience to God, take that first step.

Are you standing there afraid to touch the water or are you ready to cross?

You simply have to step into the water first, in faith, and trust Him to part the water.

Make sure you also take time to consecrate yourself before the tasks and then remember what God has done.

Do you take time to tell others what God has done for you? Forgiving and saving you, answering your prayers, and supplying all of your needs?

Retelling your story will help keep memories of God’s faithfulness alive in your family.
