A. Yahweh - A Personalized Elohim.
1. Genesis 2:4 is a transitional repeat verse.
2. Genesis 2:4 transitions God from Creator God to personal God.
B. Yahweh - God is the I AM.
1. God, by naming Himself, necessitates closeness.
2. God, by naming Himself, opens Himself up for hurt.
3. Ancient names represent character.
a. I AM - I exist within myself.
b. I AM - I am the one who causes existence to be.
c. I AM - I am the First and the Last.
a. I AM - I exist within myself.
b. I AM - I am the one who causes existence to be.
c. I AM - I am the First and the Last.
4. Yahweh - A living and active hope
5. Yahweh - A living and active fortress
6. YHWH - A part of every breath we take
C. God is YHWH, therefore, we can...
1. God is YHWH, therefore, we can know He wants a relationship with us.
2. God is YHWH, therefore, we have an eternal future.
3. God is YHWH, therefore, we can now He goes before us.
Bottom Line: Wherever the I AM is being I AM, the I AM will be the kind of I AM the I AM is.
