Both Rohi and Raah come from a Hebrew root word meaning “to feed, to keep, and to pasture” and came to mean a shepherd who feeds and takes care of his flock.
three Names of God in this short passage. Mighty One of Jacob, the Shepherd, and the Rock of Israel.

“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
It is clear that God has a heart for Shepherds in Scripture. Abel, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and David. They were all men who had a heart for God and were called by God, and God even called David, “a man after My own heart.”
“I lack nothing.” - Verse 1

“He makes me lie down in green pastures” – Verse 2

“He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul.” – Verses 2-3

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, [14] but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14

“He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” – Verse 3
