Highlight-After reading these verses, what jumps out at you?
Explain-In this his first letter to the Christians of Thessalonica, Paul seems thrilled to hear good news about their growth. Despite suffering persecution and trials, the church in Thessalonica flourished. These believers are thriving spiritually and working hard to spread the gospel to the rest of the world.

What are the unhealthy or ungodly motivations for ministry that Paul mentions in verses 1-8?
What is Paul's motivation?
They were not doing these things so that God would be pleased with them but that they would carry the gospel in such a way that God is pleased.
One of the biggest issues we run into as Christians, I believe. Is doing Christian service and trying to please God or gain favor with Him. If our motive is pure, there is nothing wrong with trying to please God. Why are you trying to please God?
