Parkerville Baptist Church
Month of Prayer: week 1
This Sunday, Anthony will be bring us the first message of our June Month of Prayer, and we would love you to join us for our first 50-10-4 prayer session before the service this Sunday! We want to gather 50 people, praying for 10 minutes, for 4 Sundays. Prayer in groups of 3 or 4 starts in the auditorium at 9.10am and finishes at 9.20am to pray for the ministries and direction of the church. Anthony says “This Sunday we start a four-week series on Prayer. We are going to be approaching prayer from what may be seen as a slightly different angle. Looking broader than … you must pray!!!! That’s what Christians do, that’s what the Bible says!!! Yes that is all true but is it more than just words? My prayer is that we will grow in our understanding and experience of prayer, seeing prayer as a privilege to commune with God rather than just rushing off a shopping list.”

"Prayer is the only entryway into genuine self-knowledge. It is also the main way we experience deep change - the reordering of our loves. Prayer is how God gives us so many of the unimaginable things he has for us. Indeed, Prayer makes it safe for God to give us many of the things we desire. It is the way we know God, the way we finally treat God as God. Prayer is simply the key to everything we need to do and be in life. We must learn to pray. We have to."
