Locations & Times
Grace Community Church

Our Spring series is dealing with the theme of friendship.
We are looking at the lives of Bible characters who teach and model for us some great qualities that we should possess and seek in those who would be friends on our life journey.
An overriding principle we've learned is the importance of choosing wisely those who would be closest to us.

Today we are looking at 2 people from the New Testament who many consider an example of a great friendship.
When you think of famous pairs in history and contemporary culture, who are some of the dynamic duos who come to mind?

The Apostle Paul is considered to be the greatest person of the New Testament...in today's language he would be considered the G.O.A.T. of the early church.
Paul was the author of 13 New Testament books, went on 3 missionary journeys, traveled more than 10,000 miles and established at least 14 churches and discipled scores of key church leaders.
If Paul is the Batman of the New Testament, then Timothy was his Robin.
Timothy is mentioned by name in 11 of Paul's epistles, he is listed as the author of 6 of them, and had 2 of Paul's letters written to him personally.
Robin was Batman's faithful travel companion, trusted co-worker, personal representative to numerous churches, and ultimately a Bishop of the Christian church in Ephesus, the 3rd largest city in the Roman Empire.

Questions...
Who is your Batman in the faith? Who is your Robin?
Who is regularly investing spiritually into your life and with whom are you doing the same?

As we consider the idea of friends and friendship, we've been focusing on the things that go into making healthy relationships.
Today we'll do the same as we look at a few lessons from the lives of Paul and Timothy.
