Dig Deeper:
1. When you think of the Book of Psalms in the Bible, what comes to mind? What shaped this viewpoint?
2. Have you read a lot from the Book of Psalms? Why or why not?
3. What do you hope to learn or take away from this sermon series?
4. Read Psalm 19:1. What does it mean to hear the heavens declaring the glory of God? Have you ever heard it? When? Where? What did it show you?
5. Why does David use the phrase “work of his hands”? Discuss the incredible creativity of God.
6. Read Psalm 19:2-6. What does it mean that they “pour out speech” yet “there is not speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard”? What is their message?
7. How does knowing God holds the universe together change your view of Him or make you know Him more?
8. Read Romans 1:19-20. How have you experienced God being evident “through what he has made”?
9. How does knowing “mankind is without excuse” also apply to our knowledge of Jesus?
10. Read Psalm 19:7-11. What does each of these words mean: instruction, testimony, precepts, command, fear, and ordinances (of the Lord). Based on this scripture, describe what each provides to us.
11. Why does David compare them to gold and honey? Why is a blessing to be warned by them?
12. Read Romans 2:14-15. How does the law restore and illuminate our lives? How does the human conscience give more proof God’s existence?
13. What is the connection between nature and the law? How can we seek God in both?
14. Read Psalm 19:12-13. How can we make our lives pleasing to God?
15. Read Psalm 19:14. What does it mean to call God our rock and our redeemer?
16. How would you summarize the psalm?
17. What did you learn about God and your relationship with him from this psalm?
18. What did you learn about prayer?
19. Is there an area of your life or a time in your life where you can relate to the author’s situation and the feelings expressed in this psalm?

Live It Out:

Everything was created for Him...including you! Rewrite Psalm 19 in your own words or draw a picture that includes imagery from the psalm. Include specifically how:
· God reveals Himself to you through His creation
· God reveals Himself to you through His Word
· God reveals Himself to you through your conscience
· God reveals His grace to you

Then, spend some time praying. Use what you wrote (or drew) and share with God how you see Him in creation, through His Word, through your conscience, and what sins you need to repent of (including both hidden faults, unintentional sins, and willful sins).

Reading Plan:
Monday: Psalm 19:1-6
Tuesday: Psalm 19:7-11
Wednesday: Psalm 19:12-14
Thursday: Romans 1:19-20, Romans 2:14-15
Friday: Colossians 1:15-20
Saturday: Romans 10:13-18
