North Platte Berean Church
Receiving Jesus' Blessing
Last week we commissioned teams to serve at Royal Family Kids Camp and Maranatha Bible Camp. Both of these camps are targeted, to a degree, at children and this is a great opportunity to revisit the heart of God toward children. As we see Jesus' heart for kids, may our hearts be stirred to love and honor them as he did! In Mark 9:37 Jesus poignant explained, "Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.” If we're going to receive Jesus, we must be willing to receive the child (indeed, the one whom that child represents).

Dan Smith's Sabbatical
According to our staff sabbatical policy, all full-time staff, after 6 years of continuous service to Berean, may request up to 3 months of sabbatical leave.
Dan started in June 2013, so he has eclipsed the 6 years by a long while! Therefore, he'll be on sabbatical from June 19 through September 10. For more details, click the link below.

Baptism is a public witness of an internal reality, that the person has passed from death to life by trusting Jesus alone for salvation. Next week we're baptizing Bruce & Sherri Dodson.

What was one thing from this week’s sermon that impacted/challenged me?
• Treasuring God: What is God showing me about himself?
• Being Transformed: How is God challenging me to grow? What is my next step in this?
• Loving Others: Who do I have opportunity to live out these truths with this week?
• Pursuing Unity: How can we take a step in this area, to unite us more closely together?

Next Week's Sermon
Next week we'll be starting a summer series which will include select passages from the book of Judges. The series is called, "Follow Your Heart?" (yes, with a question mark). Our culture routinely suggests this as great advice for us when trying to make decisions, but is it great advice or might it actually contain some great danger? We'll kick off our exploration into the book as we watch Israel partially obey the commands of God and see how God views partial obedience.
