God’s Names tell us who He is, what His character is like, and what we can expect from Him.

Elohim means “The Sovereign, All powerful One, or Mighty Creator”.

Yahweh or YHWH – I AM that I AM – and Jehovah (Yehovah) or LORD

Adonai - Meaning Lord & Master

“I am El-Shaddai — ‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life.”

God is El Shaddai - The Almighty God and the All Sufficient One.

El Shaddai is saying, “I am more than enough to meet all of your needs in every situation because I am All Powerful and in control of your supply and abundance.”

God has the same message for us today. We are to obey the Lord in every respect because He is God. That is reason enough. If you don’t think the benefits of obedience are worth it, consider who God is—the only one with the power and ability to meet your every need. LASB Study Notes

“Some people want everything right away, instant coffee, instant tea, and instant answers to prayer. But there’s more to it than instant everything. You have to hold fast to your confidence (in God) in order to obtain rewards. You have to be patient and know that God is never late. Sometimes, He’s just in time, but He is never late.” – Marilyn Hickey from the book, Names of God.
“The day is coming (soon) when God is going to judge the earth. Choose His abundance of blessing. Choose for Him to be all-sufficient in every one of your situations. El-Shaddai – what a Name to camp under! Have you staked your claim?” – Marilyn Hickey
