Dirty Work - Water and Weeds

Dirty Work - Water and Weeds

When we choose to become part of a church our private faith becomes public. Our individual passions, gifts, and callings work together to fulfill God’s purpose for our faith family. "Dirty Work" will help shape our personal approach to sharing the good news of Jesus in natural, organic ways. We will discuss preparing the soil, sowing seeds, and pulling weeds – each an integral and messy part of putting our faith into practice. It is planting season and time to start digging!

"If then you are wise, you will show yourself rather as a reservoir than as a canal. For a canal spreads abroad water as it receives it, but a reservoir waits until it is filled before overflowing, and thus communicates, without loss to itself, its superabundant water. In the Church at the present day, we have many canals, few reservoirs." ~ Bernard of Clairvaux
Getting Dirty - Water and Weeds, Part 1

Open Your Eyes. Ask God to open your eyes to see the spiritual reality around you. Reflect on Elisha's prayer in 2 Kings 6. In boldness, ask the Holy Spirit to see behind the veil of the physical world and see with heavenly eyes.

Raise Your Temperature. Identify your outreach temperature (on a scale of 1 - 10) and take one practical step to raise it by one degree this week. Then share what happens with others!
