HOW DID JESUS HANDLE HYPOCRISY?

We can learn two things from Jesus in this passage:
1. JESUS CONFRONTED HYPOCRISY.
2. JESUS MAJORED ON THE MAJORS.

HOW SHOULD WE CONFRONT HYPOCRISY?

1) CONFRONT WITH CAUTION

Galatians 6:1b
...restore him gently. But watch yourself or you also may be tempted.
(vulnerable; pride)

Examine your own heart first.

2) CONFRONT WITH THE GOAL OF RESTORATION.
Remodeling and demolition are very different.

Galatians 6:1
Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.

CONFRONT WITH THE GOAL OF RESTORATION.
Restore: katartizo (kat-ar-tid'-zo); to perfectly repair; make better than new.

3) CONFRONT WITH COMMITMENT.

Galatians 6:2
Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Carry: bastazo (bas-tad'-zo); to lift, to sustain, to take up.

Confront not with judgment or condemnation but with a love that lifts, sustains, and takes up.
