Message Series: Solid Ground
Today's Message: The Rock of Peace
Key Scripture: Matthew 5:9
Families are facing unique challenges that can strain even the strongest bonds.
This is what Jesus said in Mathew 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.
Jesus didn't say, "Blessed are the peacekeepers," He said, "Blessed are the peacemakers."
We are not just a Christian home.
We are a Christ-centered home.
What do Peacemakers do?
1. Tell the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15
2. Peacemakers also apologize when they're wrong. James 5:16
3. Peacemakers forgive and let go. Colossians 3:13
Practical steps you can take:
Seek to understand others.
Practice forgiveness.
Promote peace in your community.
Embrace humility.
Growth Guide Questions:
1. What spoke to you from the message on Sunday? What’s one of your main points of application to your life?
2. What things take time away from God and your family? How can you reevaluate and refocus Godly priorities in your household?
3. Read the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5:1-12.
4. What is the difference between being a peacemaker and a peacekeeper? Why did Jesus specifically mention peacemakers in His teachings?
5. What does it mean to be a Christ-centered home? How does this impact the way we approach relationships with others?
6. Read Ephesians 4:15. Why is telling the truth in love important? How can we do this effectively in non-conflict times?
7. Apologizing when we’re wrong can be difficult. How can we make sure our apologies are sincere and effective?
8. Forgiveness is a key part of being a peacemaker. Why is it important to forgive and let go, and how can we cultivate a forgiving attitude in our relationships?
