1 Kings 21:5-26

Northern Israel’s first kings:

Jeroboam – 22 years
Nadab – 2 years
Baasha – 24 years
Elah – 2 years
Zimri – 1 week
Omri – 12 years
Ahab – 22 years

1 Kings 21:27-28

If a man as horrible as Ahab is able to arouse God's compassion, anybody can.

Exodus 33:6-7

Those who humble themselves before God, (no matter how great their evil)
their humility will arouse God's compassion.

Can perfect JUSTICE and perfect MERCY coexist?
JESUS DIDN’T DIE FOR HIS OWN SIN. HE DIED FOR YOURS.

You don’t need a CONFLICT-FREE relationship. Those don’t exist.

What we need is MERCY-FULL relationships.
Next Steps

- I need to REPENT to God of something that is still plaguing me with GUILT. I need to HUMBLE myself before God about that specific thing, and receive His compassion & MERCY.

- I am in AWE of God’s inexhaustible mercy – and it stirs me to WORSHIP!

- I need to RECONSIDER my approach to a RELATIONSHIP – perhaps I’ve been too heavy on the justice and not enough on the compassion… “God, help me respond to others with compassion, because that’s how You’ve responded to me.”
