Dirty Work - Preparing the Soil

Dirty Work - Preparing the Soil

When we choose to become part of a church our private faith becomes public. Our individual passions, gifts, and callings work together to fulfill God’s purpose for our faith family. "Dirty Work" will help shape our personal approach to sharing the good news of Jesus in natural, organic ways. We will discuss preparing the soil, sowing seeds, and pulling weeds – each an integral and messy part of putting our faith into practice. It is planting season and time to start digging!

Five Days of Prayer – Think of one person that you know is “lost”, separated from God. Commit to pray for this person for five days using two simple prayers:
1. “God , help me love this person the way you do. Give me your heart for them.”
2. “Holy Spirit, please draw this person to yourself. Soften their heart and reveal yourself to them.”

Jesus Study – This week pick one of Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John - and commit to reading 1-2 chapters each day looking for one recurring theme: How did Jesus love people? Seek to learn from Jesus’ example and teaching.

Connect – Look at your schedule this week and block out time to connect with those who are lost or apart from God. If you do not have any time scheduled to be with non-Christians, adjust your schedule!
