Proper Alignment: Identifying the Problem

Proper Alignment: Identifying the Problem

One of the toughest parts about being a Christian, is understanding the importance of being in alignment with God. We need to know where we went off track, we need to know what we don't know or understand our limitations, get in the shop (or the Word) and get it fixed. Once it is repaired, maintenance is the key to keeping it on the road. But you have to count the cost... and repairs are expensive these days, especially to something as important as your soul.

b. Questioning our circumstances
c. Directing God in our prayers and our reasonings

Louis Giglio said, "...most of my praying had been advising God correcting God, suggesting things to God, drawing diagrams for God, reviewing things with God, counseling God."
Understanding who God is
a. Looking at who we are

R C Sproul shouted, “What’s wrong with you people? I’m serious. I mean this is what is wrong with the Christian church today, we don’t know who God is and we don’t know who we are.”
Adam and Eve

Genesis 2:15-17

Genesis 3:6

When you look at the examples, we see the problem rests in the actions and the motivations of ME.

Tithe and Offering

2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. God's people have always been characterized by giving, but the way they've given has changed over time. Giving is an important aspect of the Christian life. After all, Luke records that Jesus himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). At Northside, we want to encourage all members to pray about giving and give as God leads them.
