hey
(John 14:13-14) And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask Me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Five Possible Reasons

1) Maybe you have a broken relationship.

(Mark 11:24-25) Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

(1 Peter 3:7) Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
2) Maybe you have the wrong motives.

(James 4:3) When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your own pleasures.

(Proverbs 16:2) “All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD.”
3) Maybe you don’t believe God will do it.

(Mark 9:22-23) “ … But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." 23 " ‘If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes.”

(Isaiah 55:9) “…My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts are higher than your thoughts…”
4) Maybe God has something different.

(1 John 5:14-15) - This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us – whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.
5) Maybe God’s just not done yet.

(1 John 5:14-15) This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.

(Romans 8:28) And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (NASB)

If it’s not good … He’s not done.

(Isaiah 63:9) “In all their suffering He also suffered, and He personally rescued them. In His love and mercy, He redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the years.” (NLT)
During the waiting …
1) Learn while asking why.

(Hebrews 5:8) “Even though Jesus was God’s Son, He learned obedience from the things He suffered.” (NLT)

(2 Corinthians 1:8-9) “We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.” (NLT)
2) Love while asking why.

(Hebrews 13:16) “And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” (NLT)

(2 Corinthians 1:4) “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” (NLT)
3) Worship while asking why.

(Hebrews 12:28-29) “Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire.” (NLT)
