SUNDAY’S COMING
Luke 24:1–6 (ESV)

24 But on the first day (on SUNDAY) of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. 5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” 8 And they remembered his words, 9 and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.

The 36-40 hours leading up to the resurrection
DAY ONE: FRIDAY’S FIASCO

What was the disciples story?

* James and John - We lost all hope
* Judas and Simon - I was disappointed and depressed
* Peter - My dreams were crushed for a second time
* Nathaniel & Phillip - I had a crisis of faith
* Mary Magdalen - I had no where else to turn
* Mary, Jesus’ Mother - My first born son was murdered

What is your Friday story?

A plausible Friday story for this generation...

“I was in SPIRITUAL SHOCK, going through the motions filled with GUILT, FEAR & ANGER"

DAY TWO: SATURDAY’S SILENCE

This was the longest day where you were unable to do anything but sit in silence before that stone

The Signs Of Depression

* Hopeless
* Loss of interest
* Anxious
* Irritable (especially in men)
* Change in appetite
* Uncontrollable emotions
* Longing for Death

Three Truths From The Gospel
a. The world will say look at “poor pitiful you” but His word say look at a “Good, Great God!”
b. My FEELINGS do not change His FACTS
c. God uses the silent seasons to introduce us to our SELF and our SAVIOR

3. Sunday’s Salvation

It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!
