Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem where He would soon be crucified. As He was traveling, there were great crowds that followed Him wherever He went. The crowds followed, waiting to see miracles, healings, or even people being raised from the dead.
The crowds that followed Jesus this day as He approached Jerusalem were praising Him. They were crying “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
However, not everyone in the crowd that day was pleased. The Pharisees were upset, hated Him, and asked Jesus to tell His followers to stop shouting praises to Him.
Jesus replied that “if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”
The crowds that day were praising Jesus for the things they had seen and heard about Him, but His most important work was yet to come.

Main Point: God wants people to worship Him.
The crowds were praising Jesus for all of the wonderful things He had done. He was the promised Messiah who would rescue and save them, just not in the way they expected.

Spend time praying
Jesus,
help us to praise You for all of the wonderful things You’ve done, most importantly the work You’ve done to save us from punishment for our sins that we rightly deserve.
Amen.

Hosanna
Worship together with the following video worship song link below.
In Mark’s account of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the people shouted Hosanna, which means “help us” or “save us”. That’s exactly what Jesus was going to do.
Let’s sing this song.
